Redcar and Cleveland Mind’s reputation is built on our commitment to our mission statement, aims and values. The organisation began in Redcar in the late 1980s in response to an expressed need for a service for people with mental health problems managed by, and for, local people. Affiliation to National Mind and charity registration in 1991 enabled us to work within a network of support and shared values.
In response to local government reorganisation we became “Redcar and Cleveland Mind” in 1996. We now have 120 members, 13 paid workers and 30 unpaid workers.
